Finding out that one is pregnant is probably one of the biggest moments in a woman’s life. I remember feeling absolutely elated and could also feel small butterflies fluttering in my stomach when I found out I was pregnant. Like any other pregnancy, my pregnancy too came with its fair share of ups and downs along with plenty of advice, some from parents, some from friends and so on.
I remember as a pregnant woman, I used to be pretty concerned and apprehensive about everything. Like every other mother, I too wanted only the best for my baby. Soon I entered the third trimester of my pregnancy, and a baby shower was organised for me by my family. Once the event was over, I was going through my gifts, I saw that one of them that I had received was a Johnson’s Baby Set. When my mother-in-law saw it, the first thing she told me was “This will be a very useful gift for you. I had used only Johnson’s products for both my kids, and they never had any skin issues.” I still today remember what she said, and how true they eventually proved for me as well.
Time flew and very soon my little bundle of joy arrived one fine morning, crying her heart out. She was so delicate and fragile, that I initially felt scared to hold her. The nurse guided me and told me to come back to the nursery the following day, so that she could teach me how to bathe my baby. When I reached the bathing area, for the first time, I noticed my baby’s tiny hands and feet were dry and starting to peel. That got me a little worried. I shared my concern with the nurse and she simply brushed my worries aside and told me, “It’s okay. Her skin will become soft and supple with time.” I carefully observed how the nurse gave her a bath with lukewarm water and Johnson’s Baby Top To Toe wash. She told me “use this for your newborn’s skin. It’s safe and gentle.”
The day after that, we were discharged from the hospital. Finally it was her bath time at home and I brought out the Johnson’s Baby Gift Set that I had received. I used the baby wash and carefully gave her a bath. It felt like a beautiful moment, a memory I will treasure for life. A mother can really bond and connect with her baby while giving her a bath. In a week’s time, I could see a significant difference in her skin. Her skin was slowly changing from being dry to soft and supple. After 2 weeks, as per the doctor’s advice, I started using Johnson’s Baby Oil to first give her a massage and then used the baby wash to cleanse her. Later, I would liberally apply Johnson’s baby lotion on her tiny body and that would help her skin to retain moisture for the rest of the day.
In a month’s time my baby skin had become absolutely soft and healthy. Everytime I would touch her or take her in my arms, I was able to feel the softness of her skin against mine. Also due to the massage which I was giving her regularly before her bath, she built a healthy appetite, she was sleeping properly and obviously it was a beautiful bonding time for both of us. During the summer, I would apply Johnson’s Baby Powder, which would help to keep her skin fresh and healthy as well.
Also as I checked, all their products are free from any harmful chemicals like parabens, dyes, sulphates, asbestos and formaldehyde. This was also a big relief for me.
Once my baby turned 3 months old and I started taking her out, people started asking me about which products I used for my baby’s skin. Her skin would always glow and was soft and supple. Luckily for me and thanks to Johnson’s, she had problem free, beautiful baby skin.
So now that my child is 4 years old, I still use the same skincare products for her which helps keep her skin moisturised and healthy. It is my advice to mothers, don’t experiment with your baby’s skin. If there is any product that is recommended by the doctors or something that suits your baby’s skin, it’s always better to stick to that.
