Kareena Kapoor Khan is the hottest new mom on the block! She has been breaking stereotypes ever since she became pregnant. Kareena worked day and night finishing her assignments and was working all through her pregnancy. In fact, Saif once joked that she might deliver their baby in Mehboob Studios!! Kareena was super active during pregnancy. It really paid it off for her as she was blessed with a healthy baby boy in December last year. Her baby Taimur is super cute and keeps his mommy on his nortoes. He is the apple of her eye and the heart of the entire Pataudi household.
Soon after delivery, Kareena said in an interview, " When someone recently commented on a picture of mine post a yoga class and said I looked fat, I realized how insensitive people can be even if a woman has just delivered. It got me thinking about how women must feel about (and deal with) changes in their body post delivery. Maybe their world shatters, maybe they feel so underconfident that getting back into fab shape starts feeling like a faraway dream."
"I want to share with you what I learned during my pregnancy and post-delivery, my personal notes you can call them:
- Work on getting fit even before you get pregnant - Long before she had tied the knot with Saif, Kareena focussed her attention on eating right and indulged in regular exercise. So, you don't just have to get in shape and follow healthy eating habits for your wedding, it should evolve into a lifestyle. Working throughout her pregnancy, she remained active until the end.
- Pregnancy is a physiological milestone, don't confuse it with a sickness - Do not stop living or enjoying life just because you have a bulging stomach. This is why unlike most women, she embraced her pregnancy weight and flaunted her baby bump with great poise. One should not treat pregnancy like a disease. Moreover, Kareena ditched the ill-fitting maxi dresses and over-sized kurtis that make you look like you’re wearing a tent. She rocked her pregnancy in elegant gowns and chick dresses that were not only comfortable but also flattered her pregnancy figure!
- Mother Nature has your back - Don't be in a mad rush to shed your pregnancy weight. Just like you had a bump to take care of the baby, same way, you will get back in shape eventually but it will take time. "The extra fat is required for many important tasks such as lactation and protection of both the baby and the mom from infections and illnesses."
- Don't forget yourself after you deliver. - Pregnancy is tough and so is motherhood, so give your body time to heal and get back in shape naturally. "It takes a village to raise a child, goes a famous African proverb. So surely allow your family to help you with the baby -the husband, maasi, older cousins, let them spend some time with the baby while you get some peace and time to yourself. Having your own life, staying healthy, keeping up with your work-life are all important for the baby. A baby who grows up around a healthy and happy mom can build a good life for herself and contribute towards society much more meaningfully."
Pregnancy and motherhood are fun, if you are ready to enjoy every change in the body, every milestone with your baby. Mother and child is a bond that transcends waistlines, religious lines, borders, and beliefs. Here's to all of us, the women of today and the children of tomorrow."
Unlike most women in India, Kareena was never shy in flaunting her bump. She did not confine herself to the four walls of her house for nine months. Not only did she complete her professional commitments, she remained very active throughout the pregnancy
Post-delivery too, this mommy was on her toes and started working out pretty early along with looking after her son. Being the workaholic that she is, there was no stopping her from pursuing her love for work. She even cut short her maternity break to fulfill her work commitments within just a month of her delivery. Kareena Kapoor Khan’s fans will soon get to watch her in the movie ‘Veere di Wedding.’Now that's what we call Trendsetting!
