5 Simple Tips to Pep Up your Look for your Special Day

Congratulations! You’re engaged. Now the next step is to finalize your dress for the ‘D’ Day. There are so many brands, designers, and styles that are available in the market and very often, brides-to-be get carried away by hardcore designer stuff. Although it is ok to get something that is in fashion, one must remember that some of these outfits might not look nice for another occasion in the future.

So, it is advisable to go for something that is evergreen. For instance, take a look at the newlywed Anushka Sharma’s outfit and accessories of her Reception in Delhi. They will look good many years from now too!

#1. Simple Banarasi Saree

For her reception in Delhi, Anushka looked splendid in a red banarasi saree that had intricate golden motifs and a thin zardosi border, designed by renowned designer Sabyasachi. According to the designer, “I don’t think Indian brides feel complete without wearing the colour red in one of their functions. Anushka decided to wear red on her reception. And much to my absolute delight, it would be a red Banarasi saree.

He also said, “Bollywood can play a major role in spreading awareness about Indian textiles and handlooms. And I must say the occasion couldn’t be better. I know copies of this sari will flood the entire country in the next few months to come, which also means that a million weaver’s children will be back at school. All I can say is thank you Anushka!”

#2. Choker Set

Anushka teamed up her red saree with an uncut diamond set – Jhumka choker set and matching jhumkas. The jewellery was also from the Sabyasachi Bridal Jewelry collection. It seems, Anushka trusts him for all her outfits. From the wedding in Italy to the reception in Delhi and Mumbai, all of Anushka’s outfits and accessories have been designed by Sabyasachi.

#3. Traditional Indian Bun

Instead of getting a typical elaborate hairdo at a salon, Anushka opted for the traditional Indian bun. She looked magnificent with this hairdo and it added to her personality. It didn’t look artificial unlike other hairstyles like a high bun or curls. The center parting with the sindoor showing, complete the look of the traditional Indian Bride.

#4. Minimal Makeup

Her makeup was not loud but just minimal with her red saree. The nude shade accentuated her beauty and the red bindi made her look really gorgeous. Her dark kohled eyes and lightly blushed cheeks made her look elegant and classy.

#5. Gajra

No Indian woman is complete without a set of gajras! Anushka’s neat bun adorned with a white gajra, rounded off the look!

Not only did Anushka look great in her saree, she also enjoyed a lot and was able to move around comfortably, unlike the case of heavily sequined lehngas and gowns. Sarees are pretty easy to carry and this has been proved by the fact that Anushka danced to the songs of Gurdas Mann with a currency note in her mouth!
