What cartoons should your baby watch

The bright and multicoloured lights of a glowing television hold the attention of kids like nothing else. Parents often use television and screen time as a way to calm their children down while they get other things done or enjoy a moment of quiet. Parents of picky-eaters use the screen as a way to get their children to eat a quiet meal without too much fuss. The new guidelines about screen-time for children suggest that it is ok for children to watch a limited amount of television but parents need to keep in mind a few important things regarding their children’s media consumption.

  • It is definitely not OK to simply hand over the iPad or switch on the TV. Parents of young children should act as their “screen-mentors” and watch the media with them to help them understand what they are watching.
  • Parents should also ensure that the time spent in front of the screen does not interfere with time they would otherwise spend at play or at sleep or doing other constructive learning activities.
  • Ensure your children are watching high-quality content meant for children.

Apart from the all-time popular Mickey Mouse Cartoons series, children between the ages of 0-5 years can watch these child-friendly cartoons.
