Ranbir Kapoor is one of the most popular celebrities today who debuted with ‘Saanwariya’ at the age of 25. Though the film failed to make a mark at the Box Office, he has subsequently, starred in over 15 more, giving some compelling and memorable performances in films like ‘Rajneeti’ and ‘Barfi’. Jeetendra (real name Ravi Kapoor) or ‘Jumping Jack’ as he was popularly called debuted at the age of 22 in ‘Geet Gaya Pattharon Ne’. He went on to play the lead role in a whopping 200+ films, many of them with the popular actresses of the 70s Sridevi and Jayaprada. Tusshar Kapoor made his debut at the age of 25 with the Superhit ‘Mujhe Kuch Kehna Hai’. He has since gone on to work in over 30 films, often in a supporting role and been a part of the successful ‘Golmaal’ franchise. Though not much can be written about Tushar’s accomplishments as an actor, he certainly is a role model for single dads in the country. Together, they pioneered what is now known as the ‘Masala film’ format, and the ‘Blockbuster’ format. Though he briefly worked as an actor, he is popular for being a screenwriter with over 30 Screenplays to his name. He was awarded the Padma Shri in 2014 for his contribution to Indian Cinema.
Salman Khan has enjoyed unmatched success and superstardom in a career spanning over 3 decades. His launch film ‘Maine Pyaar Kiya’ made him an overnight sensation and his films such as ‘Dabangg’, ‘Sultan’ and ’Tiger Zinda Hai’, in the recent years have been the highest grossing Hindi films of all times. In the last couple of years, Salman Khan works in just 1-2 films a year which go on to become superhits largely because of his mass-appeal. Lately, he has been in the news as much for his brush with the law, as his work.
David Dhawan is a popular Hindi Film director. He has directed over 40 films in a career spanning over 30 years. He is most remembered for directing numerous mindless, but fun comedies, ‘Coolie No 1’, ‘Hero no 1’, ‘Biwi No 1’ and many more starring Govinda in the 90s. His biggest hit was ‘Aankhein’.
Varun Dhawan, the youngest actor on this list enjoyed a phenomenal launch – ‘Student Of The Year’ directed by Karan Johar and has gone on to become Bollywood’s newest heart-throb. He prove his comic timing with films like ‘Judwaa-2’ and has established himself as a nuanced performer with ‘October’. All his 10 films till date have been successful making him one of the highest paid and most popular Bollywood celebrities.
